There are 7 partners at the Omnia Practice (five male and three female) and also three female GPs employed and one male GP by the partnership As a group we all believe that the patients in this area of Birmingham should receive the highest standard of primary care. We aim and offer a range of services to meet local needs and this is reflected in the different skills of the doctors and practice staff.
The majority of our patients live fairly close to the surgery in Small Heath / Bordesley Green although some patients live further out in Yardley, Sheldon and on the Solihull borders. We have an ethnic mix comprising about 25% patients with origins in the Indian subcontinent and a wide social class base. There are pockets of high unemployment and we see a very diverse range of diseases amongst our population.
We work from a modern purpose built medical centre which is currently undergoing a major new build expansion and refurbishment to the older building. It is also a base for District Nurses, Midwives, Health Visitors and Physiotherapists. We have just welcomed the teams of District Nurses, Health Visitors and the PCT Continence Team into the new wing. We are closely linked to the local community.
